On January 19 the Telecommunications Action Group published its advert in the Mail & Guardian.
The advert was paid for by more than 200 contributors and is the first step in what we plan to be a series of actions to highlight the unnacceptably high costs of telecommunications in South Africa.

hey guys, i'd really suggest, for pervasiveness, that you create a facebook group.. let's not have a whole facebook debate, but just use the technology to rally the troops.. (geek to live, don't live to geek). the media will heighten awareness, but we need to follow up with consolidation and regular informing of like-minded people.. so, create a group and mail all members of TAG with a link to the group. don't use facebook's invite option as you'll most likely be classed as spam. this will also allow us to invite and share this group with friends...
